Diamond Rio Lancaster Concert reviews
Sound
"I wanted to see him because my son is playing their songs, and he is 25% of Led Zeppelin.
I thought it would be close to what I turned out to be, and did not expect a lot of LZ songs. He is moving in a new direction, kinda rockabilly I guess they call it. His four LZ tunes played were a good jump in the new avenue he is walking now. Enjoyed Misty Mountina Hop, and Rock & Roll.
My problem was with the sound. It was bad, and that is not Diamond Rio's; or the musician's fault. But they are only as good as their sound guys. Maybe the sound was great on the main floor, but not upstairs. I have been going to concerts for 40 years and have seen some great acts.
I COULD NOT HEAR THE DRUMS, and could barely hear the steel guitar or acoustic guitars, the damn Bass and Electric smoothered the other guys. Vocals were too loud but they had to overcome the sound guys version, of the bass and electric, just too freakin loud to even hear an equal mix. And he had good musicians who deserved to be included.
Maybe it was where I was sitting, but the mix was one of the worst I have ever heard. I was in the Mezzanie, extreme right side.
All that said, Plant himself was very good. A very gracious, conversationalist, who appeared to appreciate the people and recognition. So don't take these remarks of the sound, as a slam on Plant. If you do, you are misguided."
